Ransford Antwi commends EC, stakeholders for successful special voting exercise

Sunyani, Dec. 03, GNA – Mr Ransford Antwi, an Independent Parliamentary Candidate in the Sunyani East Constituency has commended the police, Electoral Commission (EC), voters and all stakeholders for a peaceful special voting exercise.

He said the stakeholders ought to be commended for the level of political maturity and sense of civility that characterised the EC’s special voting exercise, hoping that the same would happen on December 7.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani, Mr Antwi said the level of professionalism demonstrated by the security services was an indication that they were well and fully prepared to promote peaceful General Election on December 7.

He added he was convinced and confident that the EC would also conduct credible elections to the satisfaction of all stakeholders, and urged political parties and Parliamentary Candidates and their followers to remain calm and maintain their trust in the EC.

In another interview, Miss Winifred Agyekum, the Sunyani Municipal Officer of the EC also expressed appreciation to all the stakeholders, including the special voters for their level of comportment.

She said a total of 1,012 out of the 1,137 registered special voters cast their ballot in the exercise which ended peacefully in the constituency.
