Manso Akwasiso (Ash), Dec. 03, GNA – Nana Kwakye Gyima Yeboah, Chief of Manso Akwasiso, in the Amansie South District, has urged the youth to work to protect the peace of the country.

He said protecting the country’s peace was a shared responsibility and there was the need for all, especially, the youth who were the future leaders of the country, to jealously guard the peace the country was enjoying.

Nana Yeboah, who was speaking at the graduation ceremony for some youth trained in various vocational skills in the community, said the December 07 elections showed an opportunity for them to secure the country’s future.

He stressed the need for respect and civility throughout the electoral process and said the election was not a fight.

“We are not going to fight; we are not going to insult one another and only fools will die out of electoral violence.

We are going to exercise our right to vote,” he stated.

Nana Yeboah, therefore, urged all eligible voters to turn out in their numbers and vote responsibly.

He stressed the need for respect for all people at the polling centres during the elections, since all of them were Ghanaians ready to promote the good of the country.

“Let us give the necessary respect to the electoral regulations and the officers at the various polling stations.

They are our relatives, friends, husbands, and wives.”

Nana Yeboah called for support to train the country’s youth in employable skills to help ease the country’s unemployment situation.

Mr Kwaku Abonee, Chairperson of the Amasie South Chapter of the Ghana National Association of Small-Scale Miners (GNASSM), appealed to political parties to demonstrate the political will to stop illegal mining activities in the country.
