President commissions Municipal hospital at Jumapo

Jumapo (E/R), Dec. 6, GNA – President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has commissioned a 40-bed capacity hospital in Jumapo, located in the New Juaben North Municipality of the Eastern Region.  

The hospital is one of 12 district hospitals for which the government secured funding of 71.5 million Euros to construct, with the aim of bringing primary healthcare services closer to communities and individuals. 

Addressing the gathering at the commissioning ceremony, the President emphasized the importance of hospital maintenance programmes that involved regular inspections and upkeep of the environment, assets, and appliances within hospital systems.  

The hospital is equipped with an Out-Patient Department (OPD), surgical department, obstetrics department, gynecology unit, administration, pharmacy, and other essential services.  

He urged the need to ensure continuity of development projects, programmes, and policies.  

Nana Kwame Owusu, the Chief of Jumapo, expressed gratitude to the government for the facility, stating that it was an essential healthcare institution that provided patients in need with specialized medical care and nursing services.
