Physically challenged voter urges transparent, credible election

Tortoekope (VR) Dec 07, GNA – Mr. Raymond Attipoe, a 67-year-old physically challenged man at Tortoekope Polling Station has called for a peaceful, transparent and credible election.

He said a transparent election would prevent any unforeseen situation that may jeopardise the exercise.

Mr. Attipoe told the Ghana News Agency (GNA), in an interview that the country needed the necessary change that could transform the lives of many others.

“l can’t even walk, l need assistance in everything l do. I am urging all voters to come out in their numbers and vote for a change because things are very difficult for us,” he stated.

He described the ongoing exercise as smooth and successful and commenced the Electoral commission (EC) officials, security personnel and party agents for the exercise.

The voting, which commenced at 0700 hours is expected to end at 1700 hours.

The GNA learned that 46 eligible voters out 308 voters have cast their votes as at 0920 hours.

At Evangelical Presbyterian School at Dzelukope Polling Station, 69 voters out of 347 were able to exercise their franchise as at 0856 hours.

Fifty thousand, six hundred and seventy-seven (50,677) registered voters are expected to vote at 128 polling stations during the election in Keta constituency.

The GNA gathered that verification machines and other necessary equipment were working to perfection for a smooth election.
