Suke, (UW/R), Dec. 22, GNA – Forty-eight students at the Suke D/A Kindergarten, primary and Junior High School (JHS) received awards for their exceptional academic performances in the 2024 academic year.
The students received mathematical sets, books, pens, and pencils for their excellent academic performances.
Mr Delle Anthony, a representative of the Lambussie District Director of Education said the awards were to recognize and motivate the high-performing students to be more serious in their academic work to achieve more awards to encourage other to learn harder.
He said achieving and sustaining academic excellence was critical and could set students to work hard towards realistic goals, stay motivated and self-disciplined.
He charged the awardees to take advantage of the awards and learn harder than before to become successful in life.
He tasked them to cherish every bit of the award, indicating that it was not given to them on a silver platter.
Mr Amoah Basing, the Public Relations Officer of Ghana Education Service (GES) encouraged the awardees to be motivated and continue to learn harder.
“Do not be complacent. Get outside of your comfort zones and strive to achieve more,” he said adding that they should ensure that they were always counted among the best.
Mr Baagiro Inusah Basing, the principal of the Suke D/A JHS said lack of basic infrastructure and high enrolment was contributing to poor performance of both teachers and pupils in Suke school and the district as a whole.
He called on the government and other stakeholders in education to pay more attention to infrastructure development in the Suke Basic School.
He said the school was embattled with inadequate teachers, furniture and inadequate teaching and learning materials to cater for the increasing number of students.
The principal, therefore, appealed to the government and other key stakeholders to aid the school to build more classroom blocks to contain increasing student enrollment.
The Paramount Chief of the Lambussie Traditional Area, Kuoro Issaka Zengeh Kazie Tenjie II, congratulated all the teachers for working hard in seeing their students excel and urged them to continue to give their utmost best.
