Accra, Dec. 12, GNA – The National Elections Security TaskForce (NESTF) has heightened security measures for the collation of election results from four outstanding constituencies in the Eastern Region.

To ensure the safety and integrity of the process, the collation has been moved to the Detective Training Academy within the Police Training School in Tesano, Accra.

Addressing the media on Thursday, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Richmond Mensah confirmed that robust security arrangements involving both Police and Military personnel had been put in place.

Some political party supporters have gathered at the entrance of the training school, chanting slogans, but the security forces are maintaining order.

As of now, the collation for one constituency has been completed successfully, while the process continues for the remaining three.

ASP Mensah also mentioned that similar security measures are in place in the Ashanti and Bono East regions, where outstanding results are still to be collated.

The Police are awaiting confirmation from the Electoral Commission (EC) on the dates for those exercises.

He assured the public that sufficient security measures were in place to allow the EC officials to carry out their duties without disruption.
