Atebubu, (Bono East), Dec. 9, GNA – The offices of the Atebubu-Amantin Municipal Assembly in the Bono East have been closed following an attack by some supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the area.

A CCTV camera exposed the attackers who raided the offices of the National Identification Authority (NIA), Mr Joseph K.B. Tang, the Atebubu/Amantin Municipal Coordinating Director confirmed to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Aebubu, the Municipal capital.

He said the matter had since been reported to the PPolice for investigations. The official vehicle of the Municipal Chief Executive had also been parked at the Atebubu Police Station for safe keeping.

The GNA learnt that the thugs numbering about 50 were on motorbikes, and luck eluded them when a staff of the Assembly noticed them on the CCTV camera and raised an alarm.

“Their behaviour clearly shows that they were at the premises of the Assembly to lock up the offices of the NIA, the Municipal Chief Executive and the Revenue Department,” an eyewitness and a staff of the assembly told the GNA on condition of anonymity.”
