Accra, Dec 07, GNA – Mr Abdul Rauf Tubazu, National Democratic Congress Parliamentary Candidate for Ayawaso Central, has cast his ballot at the St Gabriel’s Anglican Church polling station in Kotobabi, Accra.

He voted at 0200 hours.

Mr Tubazu was optimistic about winning the election, saying “so far so good with the general atmosphere.”

“I started going round the polling stations in the morning, and I realised that most of the polling stations did not open early. I know I am winning the election because the electorates have seen my good works,” he said.

He said some of the polling stations had presidential stamps on the ballot instead of the parliamentary stamps, but they were eventually resolved.

He encouraged the voters to go and exercise their franchise to elect a good leader to steer the affairs of the country.

Mr Jackson Aryee-Tetteh, the Presiding Officer, St Gabriel’s Anglican Church polling station,

said as of 1415 hours, 222 voters had cast their ballots out of the total registered voters of 465.

He said there were no major challenges except that some voters tried to take pictures of their ballots and were stopped.

A total of 88,312 registered voters are expected to cast their ballots in the constituency, with 191 polling stations.
