Ambainu (W/R), Dec. 15, GNA – The National Democratic Congress (NDC) branch in Ellembelle has held a victory thanksgiving service after victory in the December 7 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
This follows the significant margin of 13,000-plus votes the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah secured against his main contender Mr Kwasi Bonzoh of the New Patriotic Party ( NPP).
This is the fifth time, Mr Kofi Buah had won the Parliamentary seat after he entered Parliament for the first time in January 2009.
Preaching ,head pastor of the Sacred Action Church in Aiyinasi, Reverend Francis Andoh, advised political leaders to thank God after any victory in elections.
He reminded the NDC government to celebrate victory carefully.
The Reverend Andoh explained that most political parties forgot to thank God and place the needs and aspirations of the people first.
That situation, he noted, usually led to dissatisfaction among the people, who withdraw their support from the political parties.
He said NDC was blessed by God to win the elections and should remain blessed but not exhibit the kind of behaviour that would make them lose the multitude of Ghanaians who voted them into office.
The minister of the Gospel said for the John Mahama -Naana Opoku Agyemang government to succeed, they must respect the views of the people but never disrespect and disregard their contributions in nation building.
Reverend Andoh reminded the NDC government that any time they took Ghanaians for granted, they should bear in mind that the party was near opposition.
The member of Parliament for Ellembelle, Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, appealed to party supporters to be patient and refrain from divisions and internal wranglings after victory.
He said the last NDC government brought industries and jobs to Ellembelle.
Mr Kofi Buah promised to bring more industries and employment to the area.
He said though NDC won the polls, Ghana had emerged victorious.
The MP said the 2024 elections was historic as the NDC won constituencies that the party had never won before.
Mr Kofi Buah promised to thank all towns and villages in the area for their massive support.
He said Ghanaians voted NPP out because of disrespect, intimidation and lack of humility in governance and advised NDC people in government not to tow that line.
He promised to lead the people with respect, love and care.
The MP said he would continue to work hard to make Ellembelle an NDC stronghold.
