NCCE holds parliamentary dialogue with Abetifi NDC parliamentary candidate

Abetifi (E/R), Dec. 03, GNA – The Kwahu East District office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has held a Parliamentary Candidate Dialogue with Mr. Isaac Amoafo Addo, NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Abetifi Constituency.

Two Parliamentary Candidates who were invited for the forum were the incumbent Member of Parliament for the NPP, who doubles as the Agriculture Minister, Mr Bryan Acheampong who could not make it.

The dialogue, spearheaded by the Kwahu East District Director of NCCE, Ms. Roberta Essilfuah Koah, was to enable the Parliamentary candidate present his visions for the constituency in terms of helping the youth to be committed to eschewing non-violence, issue-based campaigning and fostering tolerance and peace before, during, and after the elections come December 7th.

The event reinforced NCCE’s commitment to promoting peaceful and informed civic engagement in the lead-up to the 2024 general elections.

“Our input emphasized vigilance and maintaining public order during the electoral process”, she explained.

Meanwhile, the NDC MP emphasized his commitment to maintaining peace, urging his supporters not to engage in violent activities and untreated them to go in their numbers to cast their preferred votes.

“No one should stand on my words to go and fight with any opponent that would spike confusion in the constituency”, he said.

The event brought together key stakeholders, traditional authorities, security personnel, students, community members and other members of the Kwahu East District Assembly, Delegations from the NCCE’s Head Office, Representatives from the Kwahu South office of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ).

Questions asked were based on findings from the NCCE’s 2024 Matters of Concern to the Ghanaian Voter study, highlighting pressing issues such as education, employment, health, roads, infrastructure, the economy, and agriculture.
