Zagyuri (N/R), Dec 25, GNA – Markaz Al Bishara Child Development Programme (MABCDP) in partnership with Children Believe has organised Christmas party for some children in three districts of the Northern Region to put smiles on their faces as the world marks this year’s Christmas festivities.
A total of 2,147 children in the Gushegu, Sagnarigu and Kumbungu Districts took part in the party, which was held separately in schools in these districts.
They were treated to meals and beverages amidst music while the children engaged in fun games such as sack race, fill in the bottle, dance round the chair, among others.
Mr Joshua Sayibu, Programmes Manager, MABCDP, speaking during the party at Zagyuri Anglican Primary School in the Sagnarigu Municipality, said it was an annual event to educate the children on the essence of Christmas and the need for them to conduct themselves responsibly, especially during the festive season.
He said it was also to help inculcate in the children the culture of sharing, love, peace, and forgiveness, which were epitome of Christmas celebration.
He encouraged the children to be of good behaviour and work harder towards the attainment of their goals and aspirations.
Mr Mohammed Kabiru Imoro, Public Relations Officer, Sagnarigu Municipal Assembly, advised the children to work hard to unearth their talents and skills to solve problems in society.
