Accra, Dec. 10 GNA – Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President and Leader of the New Patriotic Party, has urged the Party’s supporters to stop the blame game following their defeat in the just-ended elections and unite towards capturing power in 2028.

“I have abiding belief in God. Our ways are not his ways. I know most of us are sad because this is not what we expected but we should have hope for a brighter future,” he stated.

Dr Bawumia, the Flagbearer of the NPP for Ghana’s just ended 2024 general election, made the remarks during a courtesy call on him by some constituency executives of the Party at his Cantonments residence on Tuesday.

Dr Bawumia said though the NPP lost the battle, it did not lose the war and asked members of the Party to unite their ranks.

He noted that the analysis of the data from the election results showed that the NPP handed power to the NDC because the NPP’s votes reduced by 40 per cent from what it garnered in the 2020 elections.

That, he said, required deeper reflection, and for party members and faithful to rally together behind the rank and file of the party and resolve their differences going forward.

Mr. Valentino Nii Noi Nortey, the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Klottey Korle Constituency; Mr. Jerry Ahmed Shiab, the Member of Parliament- Elect for Weija-Gbawe Constituency; Elder Emmanuel Tobin, the MP-Elect for Anyaa Sowutuom; and Madam Gloria Owusu, the MP-Elect for Trobu Constituency took turns to encourage the NPP Flagbearer to remain steadfast and stage a comeback in the 2028 polls.

They expressed their commitment to support Dr Bawumia through thick and thin to recapture power in 2028 polls.

The supporters of the NPP from Weija-Gbawe, Klottey Korle, Trobu, Ayawaso East and Anyaa Sowutuom sang party songs and cheered Dr Bawumia up.
