Kete-Krachi (O/R), Dec 19, GNA – The youth of Kete-Krachi in the Krachi West Municipality of the Oti Region have expressed strong confidence in President-elect John Dramani Mahama’s 24-hour economy policy, which they believe will address unemployment in the area.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr. Dzibo Michael, a member of the Kete-Krachi Youth Parliament B, shared the challenges faced by young people in the past eight years under the NPP government.
“We were tired and hungry for eight years. We really suffered under Nana Akufo-Addo’s government, and that is why we voted for change,” Mr. Michael lamented.
He urged the youth to remain patient and optimistic, emphasising that the new administration’s policies, particularly the 24-hour economy initiative, would create opportunities and reduce unemployment.
“Let us believe in Mahama’s leadership. With the 24-hour economy, unemployment will soon be outdated,” he added, chanting, “24-hour economy, Obiaaa be didi,” which translates to “Everyone will eat.”
Despite the post-election calmness in the Krachi West Constituency, some National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters have quietly celebrated their victory, confident in the transformative policies promised by the incoming government.
