Dormaa-Ahenkro (Bono), Dec. 7, GNA – Mr Kwame Osei, a 65-year-old farmer at Dormaa-Ahenkro in the Bono Region, says he is anxious to vote for his choice of political party to win power and tackle the rising youth unemployment in the country.

Mr Osei who was the first to cast his ballot at the Baptist Church polling station at Nkyenkye in the Dormaa Municipality, said he arrived at the voting centre around 0300 hours to wait for the election officials.

“It was around 0420 hours when the officials of the Electoral Commission (EC) arrived at the centre,” he told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview during a visit to the polling station.

“The voting process was very simple and there was nothing like intimidation and the atmosphere is calm and peaceful here,” he stated.

Mr Osei explained that “I arrived at the polling station early because I want to cast my vote early and go to the farm.”

He also expressed confidence in the elections officer, saying, “I strongly believe they will be fair, honest and transparent in the exercise.”

Meanwhile, voting started at exactly 0700 hours at the centre without any delay.

Virtually, all the agents of the political parties were at the centre when polls started with some security personnel around.
