Hohoe (V/R), Dec. 31, GNA – Mr Derek Kwame Adzoe, Presiding Member of the Hohoe Municipal, has called on the Assembly to intensify supervision to ensure that the finances of the Assembly remained stable.

He urged the Revenue Superintendent of the Assembly to supervise and ensure that value books issued were fully accounted for moving forward to avoid any potential revenue losses.

Speaking at the third ordinary meeting of the first session of the 9th Assembly, Mr Adzoe said that he was pleased to report that the internal audit for the third quarter of the Assembly reflected notable improvements in addressing previous lapses.

He commended management, particularly the internal auditor, but expressed concerns about the revenue department, where some inaccuracies were recorded.

Mr Adzoe said the Municipality witnessed one of the most peaceful elections in the recent general elections despite the tension that typically accompanied such events and thanked God as well as all relevant stakeholders, for ensuring a smooth process.

“I also want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to the Honourable Members affiliated with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for securing both the parliamentary and presidential elections at the local and national levels. It is my hope that we continue to conduct ourselves with professionalism, free from partisan considerations, as we work towards the betterment of the people of Hohoe.”

He thanked all government appointees for their impact since they would not return during next year’s Session and commended the positive impacts of Mr Francis Fiakpui, Hohoe Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) despite his short stay in office.

Mr Adzoe called on them to continue their involvement in the development of Hohoe in whatever capacity they could as their experience and input remained valuable to all.

Some of the issues presented and discussed during the Session were the Executive Committee Report of the Assembly and the 2023 Auditor General’s Report on the Assembly.
