Hohoe and Guan Constituencies record high Special Voting turnout

Hohoe (V/R), Dec. 2, GNA – The Hohoe and Guan Constituencies in the Volta and Oti Regions respectively have recorded high voter turnout in the 2024 Special Voting exercise.

A total number 734 out of 827 expected voters had cast their ballots at the Cocoa Board Office Centres A and B in Hohoe representing 88.75 per cent.

In the Guan Constituency, where the exercise was held at the Likpe Senior High School, a total of 51 out of 54 expected voters representing 94.44 per cent cast their votes.

The exercise in the two Constituencies have been peaceful.

Mr Enoch Danso Agyekum, Hohoe Municipal Electoral Officer in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) disclosed that the exercise had been peaceful without any incidents.

He said the turnout was an indication that a lot more people would vote on Saturday, December 7, 2024.

Mr Agyekum said the ballot boxes would be kept in the police armoury till December 7 where they would be brought to the centre to be counted.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Kofi Blagodzi, Volta North Regional Commander, Ghana Police Service after touring centres in the Region told GNA that the exercise had been peaceful.

He said it was the expectation that the December 7 exercise would be same adding that security measures were in place for the Saturday exercise.
