Great Commission Church honours seven founding fathers

Accra, Dec 2, GNA – The Great Commission Church International (GCCI) on Sunday, December 1, honoured its seven founding fathers at the Church’s 34th Annual National General Council Meeting (ANGCM) at Adenta near Accra.

Majority of the founding fathers, who are now septuagenarians include Apostle Joseph Felix Kwesi Mensah, the Chairman of the Executive Council of GCCI; Apostle Professor Samuel Asuming-Brempong, the immediate past Chairman of GCCI Ghana National Council; Apostle Ebenezer Komla Hagan, a former Member of GCCI Ghana National Council and Apostle Richard Kwami Adanu, First Vice Chairman, Missions, GCCI Ghana National Council.

The award for the late Apostle Derrick Sarpong, who was honoured posthumously, was received by his wife, Mrs Mina Sarpong.

Two of the seven founding fathers of the GCCI, who are yet to attain the septuagenarian age gap include Apostle Dr Joseph Kwabena Antwi, a former Chairman of GCCI Ghana National Council and Apostle Dr Samuel Vincent Ansah, Chairman of GCCI Ghana National Council.

The founding fathers were accompanied by their spouses.

Reverend Moses Kwame Obeng Pinkrah, Second Vice Chairman, Finance and Administration, GCCI Ghana National Council, paid tribute to the founding fathers of GCCI for their visionary leadership.

He lauded them for their sacrifices and commitment towards the propagation of the Great Commission Church of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Citations and parceled items were presented to the founding fathers.

The 34th ANGCM of GCCI Ghana, held from Thursday, November 28, 2024, to Sunday, December 1, 2024, was on the theme, “Structuring the GCCI Culture to Deliver the Mandate”.

It was attended by over 140 delegates drawn from across the country.

GCCI was founded on 1st April 1991, on the campus of the University of Ghana, Legon, Accra.

The Church has since been established in other countries such as Togo, Benin, Gabon, and the Ivory Coast.
