Abura Dunkwa (C/R), Dec.09, GNA- Mr Felix Kwakye Ofosu of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has won the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese Constituency seat in the Central Region.
He pulled a total of 30,607 to defeat Mr Eric Etodur Nyanteh of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who obtained 19,598 with Mr John Ansah of the Ghana United Movement having 293.
In all, the total valid votes cast was 50,498 and 604 of the ballots were rejected.
Mr Edwin Mensah, Returning Officer of the Electoral Commission declared Mr Kwakye Ofosu the winner amidst wild jubilation by his supporters.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, he said he would focus his attention on three thematic areas to address the concerns of the constituents.
His foremost concern would be on the construction of new roads and also upgrade roads linking communities to cities and towns to boost economic activities in the various areas.
Again, he said he would create more jobs to help the youth to be equipped with employable skills.
Mr Ofosu Kwakye cautioned his supporters to celebrate the victory moderately to stay out of trouble and promised to live up to expectation to better the lots of the people.
