Kadjebi (O/R), Dec 07, GNA -The 2024 Presidential and Parliamentary election has taken off smoothly in the Akan Constituency in the Oti Region.
When the Ghana News Agency’s (GNA) visited six polling stations, it saw potential voters in queues waiting for their turn to cast their votes.
At Kadjebi CMB Shed one, with 297 Registered Voters, two have cast their ballots as at 0722 hours when GNA visited the polling centre.
Mr. Ashiamah Felix Kingsley, the Presiding Officer told GNA that they were expecting an incident poll at the centre.
Party agents as well as security officers were present at the time of the visit.
The rest of the five polling centres visited by the GNA between 0730 hours and 0835 between two and 35 voters casting their ballots with registered voters carrying between 400 and 558 expected voters.
The polling centres are; Anthony Education Complex Polling Station, Kadjebi Market Offices 1 Polling Station, Kadjebi Post Office Square Polling Station, Kadjebi D/A Primary “A” Polling Station, and E.P JHS “B” Polling Station.
Mr. Justice Odame-Frempong, the Kadjebi District Electoral Officer, in an interview with the GNA in his Office, said a total of 47,176 Voters are expected in votes at 115 Polling Stations in the Akan Constituency.
He said they were hoping to record incident free polls.
GNA
