Sefwi-Wiawso (WN/R), Dec. 1, GNA – The Electoral Commission received a total of 2,164 applications to take part in this year’s special voting in the Western North slated for Monday December 2.
The figure according to Mr Godwin Tawiah Okley, the Regional Director, comprise of 1607 males and 557 females.
The Regional Director disclosed that the commission received 383 applications to vote in the Aowin district while, 171 would be voting in the Suaman district.
In the Bibiani Anwhiaso Bekwai municipal,359 applications were received with 422 received in the Wiawso municipality.
The rest are 301 in the Akontombra District, Juaboso got 199 and Bodi district received 115.
While 133 and 78 were received in the Bia West and East respectively.
Mr Okley told the Ghana News Agency that the commission was prepared for the conduct of this year’s election.
He said officials had been trained and appealed to residents to embrace peace to sustain the progress and development of the country.
He also asked residents to follow the guidelines for the conduct of the election.
