Accra, Dec 12, GNA – A summit to empower Ekumfi youth through social and economic opportunities is scheduled for April 2025.
Organized by Kays Event and HR Solutions, the event will tackle unemployment, education access, and inspire proactive leadership.
The summit, to be held on the theme “Empowering Ekumfi’s Tomorrow through Innovation, Youth Networking, and Cultural Orientation,” aligns with national priorities for youth empowerment and economic growth.
Nana Amoasi VII, a key organizer of the summit, explained that the initiative aimed to address systemic barriers to youth development and equip participants with the skills needed to foster economic resilience and innovation.
Nana Nyieku-Otwerkoko Sumankwahen of the Ekumfi Traditional Area noted that while Ekumfi was naturally endowed with hardworking people, the economic potential of its youth had not been fully realized.
He expressed hope that the summit would provide a platform for idea exchange and unlock economic opportunities to transform the community.
Dr. Stephen Yamoah, Executive Director of Nuclear Power Ghana (NPG), encouraged youth to engage in the summit, stressing its potential to redefine the nation’s culture, improve present circumstances, and positively impact Ekumfi.
He also urged other districts to follow suit to foster national development and pledged NPG’s support for the summit’s success.
Ms. Sekina Arthur, Youth Member of Parliament for Ekumfi, described the summit as a “groundbreaking initiative” and emphasized the importance of empowering the youth to shape the future of the constituency.
“This milestone marks the beginning of a transformative journey for our community, emphasising empowerment and progress,” she said.
Ms. Arthur called for stakeholder collaboration to harness the energy and creativity of the youth.
“This is more than an event; it is a call to action and a platform for ambition, aligning with the shared responsibility of shaping a thriving future for Ekumfi with a view to building a resilient and self-sufficient constituency.
“The future begins now, with each of us committed to creating an empowered Ekumfi,” she said.
