EC says it’s ready for special voting, December poll

Kete-Krachi (O/R), Nov 29, GNA – The Electoral Commission (EC) in the Krachi West Constituency of the Oti Region has announced its preparedness ahead of the upcoming special voting on Monday, and the general elections on December 7. 

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr. Isaac Buckman, the EC Officer in charge of the constituency, said officials have undergone extensive training to ensure a smooth electoral process.  

“The training signifies our readiness for the 2024 general elections in Krachi West,” he noted. 

He gave assurance that the EC in the area is not experiencing any challenges and that security arrangements are firmly in place to ensure a peaceful and credible election. 

“EC officials, security personnel, political parties, and the electorate are all prepared for the elections on December 2 and 7. Everything is on course,” Mr. Buckman emphasized. 

The EC officer disclosed to GNA that 601 voters are expected to participate in the special voting exercise, while 33,700 voters are registered to cast their ballots at 86 polling stations across the constituency during the general elections. 

He urged candidates and their supporters to remain calm and promote peace during their campaigns and rallies.  

“Let us continue to preach peace to ensure a successful and peaceful election in the constituency,” he added. 

The EC’s readiness highlights its commitment to delivering free, fair, and transparent elections in the Krachi West Constituency.
