Sunyani, (B/R), Dec. 02, GNA – Professor Peter Appiahene, a Commissioner of the Electoral Commission (EC) says the EC anticipates more than 85 percent voter turnout on December 7.
He told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) after casting his ballot at the Bono Regional Police Headquarters in Sunyani where the EC’s special voting exercise is underway, that the EC was adequately prepared to conduct the Election 2024.
Prof. Appiahene advised the electorates go out in their numbers and vote for their choices of political parties and Parliamentary Candidates on December 7.
“As a Commission we want all the electorates to participate in voting and that is the essence of printing the ballot papers,” he stated. The GNA learnt that a total of 1,137 electorates were expected to participate in the special voting exercise at the constituency.
At the time of filing the report voting was progressing at the two voting centers mounted by the
EC at the regional police headquarters in Sunyani. Miss Winifred Agyekum, the Sunyani Municipal Electoral Officer, in an interview with the GNA, commended the voters for their comportment so far and urged all others to behave well on December 7.
