Cape Coast, Dec. 25, GNA – The Very Rev Samuel Kweku Bassaw, the Superintendent Minister of the Cape Coast Circuit of Methodist Church Ghana, has urged tolerance and love among Ghanaians to sustain the peace after the 2024 elections.
He said the transition period required citizens to be more loving and understanding of one another to ensure a peaceful process.
“Christ Himself is the Prince of Peace and so we need to bear with one another and understand why people do what they do.
“Once we understand them in that direction and once the peace and love of God has filled our hearts, we will be able to live together as a family and as a country,” he said.
“We need peace after the election and as we go through the transition process for a new government, we are praying that the season will bring blessings and the peace of God to the nation Ghana as we go into a new political year,” he added.
The Very Rev Bassaw was delivering his Christmas message at the Wesley Methodist Cathedral in Cape Coast on Christmas Day.
He urged Christians to express the love of God by showing kindness and living in peace with their neighbours and entreated them to celebrate the season in moderation.
“Our joy in the season should be in Christ and not according to the style of the world,” he stressed.
