Dambai (O/R), Dec. 10, GNA – Assistant Divisional Officer (ADO), Dr Richard Bisimpo (Rtd), a former Volta Regional Safety Officer, has urged the Chief Fire Officer (CFO) to strengthen fire safety measures at public institutions nationwide.

His appeal came as a precautionary measure to prevent potential fire outbreaks in public institutions, which could be sparked by election-related tensions or other unforeseen circumstances.

Dr Bisimpo who was a former parliamentary aspirant on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for Biakoye constituency, urged the CFO to position fire personnel and equipment at strategic locations, particularly at public institutions to respond promptly in the event of a fire emergency.

He said vigilance was important as Ghana had experienced several incidents of public institutions being set on fire in the past.

He called on sister security services to be extra vigilant and support the Ghana National Fire Service to prevent such incidents across the country.

Dr Bisimpo also called on the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities or potential fire hazards to the authorities.
