Celebrating Africa’s worth is a call to action – Chief

Ada, Dec. 18, GNA- Africa’s diverse languages and countless ethnic groups serve as its strength rather than a challenge and a reminder that unity can flourish amidst differences, Nene Lomo IV, Divisional Chief of Lomobiawer Clan, Ada Traditional Area, has said.

“The continent is a living tapestry of over 1.4 billion souls, speaking more than 2,000 languages and belonging to countless ethnic groups,” he said.

Therefore, celebrating Africa’s worth was not merely an act of recognition but rather a call to action by Africans to partner with the global community to ensure investment flow into the continent.

“Africa is more than the heart of the world; it is its soul, vibrant with hope, resilience, and infinite possibilities,” he noted.

Nene Lomo said this as a special guest at Africa’s Brain Bank Fifth Annual Summit and Charity Ball, 2024, at the Lagos Continental Hotel in Nigeria.

Often called the Cradle of Humanity, he said Africa was not only a source of life but also a beacon of immense potential and unquantifiable value.

“She is a treasure chest of natural riches. Our lands yield gold, diamonds, oil, and critical minerals like salt and cobalt, essential for powering the modern world.”

“Africa’s fertile soil feeds millions, while its lush rain forests, like the Congo Basin, serve as the planet’s green lungs. Her unparalleled biodiversity is a testament to the ecological significance, a precious gift to humanity.”

The chief said despite those features, the people faced significant challenges such as poverty, political instability, and the existential threat of climate change.

However, as a continent of resilience, Africa had found ways to overcome, drawing on indigenous knowledge, modern innovations, and the unshakeable community bonds.

“Her true worth is found not only in its present but in its boundless potential to lead the world into a new era of global development,” Nene Lomo said.

He called on all investors to rise together, reconnect their roots, and build a future where Africa thrives as a global powerhouse.
