Accra, Dec. 30, GNA – The Cassona Global Imaging Limited, a dealer in the distribution of advanced medical imaging equipment, has urged the public to prioritise regular medical check-ups to ensure early detection of diseases.
The Company expressed concern about the late diagnosis of diseases and encouraged health facilities to invest in advanced medical imaging equipment to enhance access to quality healthcare.
Delivering a New Year Message to climax the company’s activities for the Year, Ms Gladys Tetteh, Sales Lead, Cassona, said some diseases would require special diagnoses to aid treatment.
“As we go about our Christmas festivities, we encourage the public to regularly visit the hospital and check their health status. A lot of diseases can be treated if it is detected early. Our health should be our priority,” she said.
Medical imaging encompasses technologies such as ultrasonography, x-rays, mammography, computed tomography (CT scans), and nuclear medicine.
Ms Tetteh said access to affordable medical equipment was a challenge for many health facilities in the country and undermined access to quality healthcare delivery and Cassona was aware of the inability of many health facilities to procure medical imaging equipment and had put in place flexible measures to supply health facilities with affordable equipment to boost quality healthcare delivery.
She said access to quality healthcare should not be limited to the rich and pledged the company’s readiness to partner the Government to equip public health facilities with modern medical imaging equipment.
“We know that access to capital and high interest rate are major disincentive to health facilities to procure life-saving equipment to provide quality healthcare delivery for the citizenry.
“We are ready to support the Government to equip public health facilities with modern equipment to scale up the quality of healthcare delivered to the public hospitals,” Ms Tetteh said.
She said in the coming year, Cassona would deepen its corporate social responsibility and invest in more projects geared towards empowering students with skills to manage and operate medical imaging equipment.
Ms Tetteh said in 2024, the company supported a number of academic institutions in the country with medical imaging equipment, including the Klintaps College of Health and Allied Sciences, and KinderKids International School.
She said in partnership with Mindray, the company organised various clinical demos to provide practical training and hands-on experience for medical personnel and students.
The demos were held for students at Klintaps College of Allied Sciences at Klagon, Accra, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, and Allied Health Sciences Department and for Medical Practitioners in Tamale.
