Bodi (WN/R), Dec. 28, GNA — The Calvary Society of the Methodist Church, Sefwi Bodi, has organised a love feast for its members as part of the Christmas festivities.
Addressing the members during the event, the Reverend Kingsley Frimpong, the Minister of the Society, said the birth of Jesus Christ and the celebration of Christmas should be about giving alms, instead of using the occasion for ungodly acts.
He told the members to take inspiration from what the church had done and go out there and give to the poor and the needy “because this is what Christianity is all about”
“We organised this love feast for us to socialise with each other and also use it as an example for you to also do same for the needy and the poor in your various communities, because this is the true way of Christianity,” he said.
Rev. Frimpong also urged the congregation to emulate the life of Christ and not go about calling themselves Christians without living the exemplary life of Christ in their endeavours.
Some local dishes prepared for the love feast were apreprensa, prekese drinks, ampesie and kelewele.
After the dining, they also organised indoor games at the church premises, including oware, draft, and playing cards, among others.
