Sunyani, Dec. 27, GNA – The burial of the late Sheikh Alhaji Umar Abdul Kadir Coulibaly, the Bono Regional Chief Imam is set for Friday December 27, 2024, at the Sunyani Muslim cemetery, the deceased family has announced.
The late Chief Imam died on December 25, 2024, at his private residence in Sunyani. He was 88 years and left behind four widows and 16 children.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani, Mr Umar Farouk Ibrahim, the spokesperson for the bereaved family said the burial would take around 1400 hours after the “Salatul-juma’ah” (the Jumma Service).
He said the date for the final funeral rite of the late Chief Imam would be communicated later.
“Sheikh Coulibaly was not just an Imam, but a father of all, blessed with knowledge and serve in humility and diligence,” Mr Ibrahim stated.
The late Sheikh Coulibaly was enstooled as the Regional Chief Imam 2002 and reigned for 22 years.
He was a Muslim scholar, a philanthropist and distinguish farmer engaged in mixed cropping and livestock production.
