Bibiani (WN/R) Dec. 05, GNA – The Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipal Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has held a parliamentary candidates’ dialogue for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidates in Bibiani to deliberate on how to ensure political stability in the Constituency.
The dialogue was attended by Mr Alfred Obeng Boateng, the incumbent Member of Parliament for the constituency and Mr Bright Asamoah Brefo, the Parliamentary Candidate on the ticket of National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Mrs Martha Enaaka, the Municipal Director of NCCE, said the dialogue was to provide a unique platform for the candidates to articulate their vision and policies for the constituents to make informed decisions on election day.
The discussions centered on issues of development concerning employment, education, health, roads, water and sanitation, and infrastructure.
The incumbent Member of Parliament (MP), Mr. Alfred Obeng Boateng, who is seeking a second term, used the opportunity to convince the electorate to support his bid to retain the seat to continue his good works.
He recounted his previous achievements as MP, based on which he justified the need for the people of Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency to give him their mandate one more time.
Both candidates assured the electorates to engage in decent politics devoid of attacks and campaign based on key issues of national interest.
He highlighted his numerous achievements within the last four years in office, as education, employment, health, portable drinking water, roads, and agriculture and promised to do better in his second term.
Mr Edmund Jones Afutu, the District Police Commander for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai tasked both candidates to advise their followers to stay away from acts that might affect the peaceful atmosphere before, during and after the elections.
