Keta (VR) Nov 18, GNA – Mr. Alex Amezar Maxy, a football scout and development coach at Akatsi in the Volta Region, has urged young and upcoming footballers to derive motivation from Terry Yegbe, a former player of Akatsi-based second division team, Kickers Football Club.
He said upcoming footballers should be more disciplined, respectful, as well as work harder to attain higher heights in their footballing carrier.
Mr. Amezar in an interview with GNA Sports, stated that only hard work, self- discipline, dedication, perseverance and prayer would help develop and unearth more talents for the nation.
“I unearthed Terry Yegbe, some years ago and brought him to Kickers FC, a second division club in Akatsi and he was so dedicated and discipline in taking instructions. And am happy today he’s been called to play for the Black Stars,” he said.

Mr Amezar described Terry Yegbe as a well-behaved and talented player, who moved from Kickers to join West Africa Football Academy (WAFA), then to Vision Football Club before going abroad for greener pasture.
“He’s currently playing for IF EIfborg in Swedish league after moving from Finnish side SJK SeinAjoki earlier this year. He was earlier called to represent the under 23 side for Ghana last year. Discipline is the only key that can take everyone to a successful land.”
Terry Yegbe, popularly known as Cantona was among the seven players, who received a late call up from Otto Addo, the coach of the senior national team the Black Stars for the 2025 AFCON qualifiers against Angola and Niger, double duel, after some eight other regular players withdrew from the squad.
