MOSCOW, Nov. 11 (Xinhua/GNA) — Russia and Africa are set to establish a dialogue, centered on security, according to a joint statement published Monday, following a Russian-African forum.
“We reaffirm our readiness to set up a standing top-level Russia-Africa dialogue mechanism, that will contribute towards peace, stability and security, as well as coordinating efforts in combatting terrorism and extremism,” said the statement published by the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The dialogue will also address environmental challenges and issues related to food and information security.
The First Ministerial Conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum was held on Nov. 9 and 10 in Sochi, Russia.
The event was attended by around 1,500 participants, including over 40 ministers from African countries.
