Rocky Dawuni bags fourth Grammy nomination with ‘Rise’ single

Accra, Nov. 09, GNA - Ghanaian reggae musician Rocky Dawuni has been nominated for the Best Global Music Performance at the upcoming 67th Grammy Awards. 

 The fourth nomination for the acclaimed Ghanaian performer represents another key milestone in his worldwide success.   

His “Rise” single bagged the nomination, while other nominees in the category include Angélique Kidjo, Arooj Aftab, Jacob Collier featuring Anoushka Shankar and Varijashree Venugopal, Masa Takumi featuring Ron Korb, Noshir Mody & Dale Edward Chung, and Sheila E. 

Rocky Dawuni would be attempting to win the honour this time around, with the awards ceremony scheduled for February 2, 2025, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, USA. 

In 2015, Rocky Dawuni had his sixth studio album ‘Branches of the Same Tree” nominated in the Best Reggae Album category, and also in 2022, his “Voice of Bunbon Vol. 1’ album was nominated in the Best Global Music Album Category. 

After his “African Soccer Fever” made the track list for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, he solidified his position as a key figure in the contemporary African reggae scene. 

Rocky Dawuni has a tall list of top collaborations from all over the world and has featured some top Ghanaian artistes, including Stonebwoy, Kweku Flick, Sarkodie, and Wiyaala, among others.
