Accra, Nov 8, GNA – The First Lady, Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo, has donated assorted toiletries to the Dome Market Crèche.

The First Lady was in the market to galvanise support for the NPP in the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections.

She presented to the crèche, which she built for the market women some three years ago, toiletries including diapers, washing powders, toilet rolls, detergents among others.

Mrs Akufo-Addo called on the market women to be faithful to the NPP party and vote massively for both the presidential and parliamentary candidates.

She said as market women, they stood to gain a lot from the Party as their children would continue to benefit from free SHS programme, school feeding and the National Health Insurance Scheme among other social interventions introduced by the party.

In 2021, the Rebecca Foundation, introduced the “Market Crèches” project to support market women to provide care for their toddlers while at work.

The project, which is under the Foundation’s ‘Terema Initiative’, also sought to support women to improve their economic status and general well-being.

Mr Mike Oquaye Jnr, the NPP parliamentary aspirant for Dome Kwabenya, promised to pave the road leading to the market in the next few days to make the market and the crèche more accessible.
