“Over the years the university has risen to become a beacon of innovation, sustainability, and academic excellence, consistently pushing boundaries and setting new standards for higher education,” he stated.
He said though the journey so far had been challenging and non-linear, the institution remained steadfast in value, resourceful in actions, and committed to a culture that fostered professionalism, dedication, and a strong sense of purpose.

Prof. Asare-Bediako gave the assurance when he launched the “’UENR Day” on the theme “Celebrating milestones and achievements: building a resilient future towards Institutional excellence”.
The UENR Day is being celebrated to mark the establishment of the university on November 17, 2012.

He underlined the importance of striving for a resilient future, guided by a culture of professionalism by ensuring that UENR served as a model of academic and operational excellence in the country.
The Vice Chancellor reminded that it was mandatory for the lecturers to wear official attire of the as recognised unions, and associations on Wednesdays, and any official UENR clothing on Fridays.
Reverend Jonathan Amankwah Oppong, the Minister in Charge of the Sunyani Wesleyan International Society, noted that achieving institutional excellence required collaborative efforts of faculty, students, alumni, and external stakeholders.
Fostering a culture of teamwork and inclusivity is also essential for maintaining progress, he stated and urged the university to identify vulnerabilities and take them proactively through research, technological advancement, and academic reforms.
Prof. Emmanuel Kwesi Nyantakyi, the Chairman of the Planning Committee of the celebration said the celebration also focused on creating a legacy project for the university.
“We have therefore decided to renovate the university’s old auditorium into a modern and suitable conference hall”, he stated, saying a series of events had also been outlined including sporting events, fora, and lectures in the one-year celebration.
