Philanthropist donates 326 Dual desk to schools in Sissala East

Tafiassi, (UWR), Nov. 18, GNA – Four basic Schools in the Sissala East Municipality have benefitted from 326 dual desk donations after the schools cried for support from the public. 

The schools included Tafiasi Basic School, Kulfuo Friwa Basic School,  Bugubelle Basic School, and Duu-Duu East Basic School. 

 In a short ceremony to allocate the furniture at Taffiassi, the principal of the school Madam Comfort Bundi Susorobolaw said she and some PTA executive appealed for support for furniture. 

She said in view of the several appeals for help attracted the attention of the philanthropist resulting in the donation. 

Mr Shaibu Gado, a representative of Mr Baluri Bukari Kassim presenting the furniture indicated that his brother decided to help the affected school to alleviate their plight.  

He lamented the poor maintenance culture of some of the schools in the Municipality and advised beneficiary schools to maintain the furniture regularly. 

The Chief of Tafiassi, Kuoro Bachunaching Bawa Solomon said he was naming the donor ‘Nandonzormon,’ which means “A good friend”. 

 Mr Nuhu Narimah, who spoke on behalf of the PTA, pledged to make good use of the furniture and also to maintain it. 

A student of Tafiasi Basic School, Miss Bukari Munaya, thanked Mr Baluri Bukari Kassim for the support. 

 She appealed to the public to come to their aid with reading materials to stock their empty library and computers to stock the empty Information Communication Technology (ICT) laboratory. 

Mr Godfred Kanton, a deputy Municipal Director, who spoke on behalf of the Municipal Director of Education, lamented the unseriousness of parents on the upkeep of their children and that though farming was important that should not make them neglect their children from formal education.  

 He said it was due to formal education that the donor could support the communities and tasked the school to maintain the furniture to last longer.
