Effia (WR), Nov. 19, GNA – Mr. Joseph Cudjoe, the National Coordinator for Identifiable Groups for the Bawumia Campaign is optimistic that Ghanaians will make the right decision by voting for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in the upcoming December 7 polls.
He expressed confidence in the electorate, adding that they would choose the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who is capable of addressing the country’s pressing challenges.
Mr. Cudjoe, who is also the Member of Parliament for Effia in the Western Region was addressing leaders of some identifiable groups in Takoradi including the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU), Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA), beauticians and market women among others.
The move was part efforts to help consolidate the groups’ support for the NPP flagbearer ahead of the December 7 general elections.
He noted that on December 7, there would be doubt that Ghanaians would have to choose between a visionary leader and one who is not, adding “Bawumia has great vision for Ghana’s future.”
He said Dr Bawumia’s policies, including the digitization one are in sync with the demands of a better future for Ghana.
Mr. Cudjoe mentioned that some Ghanaians appreciated the kind of development in advanced countries and was hopeful that under Dr Bawumia’s leadership Ghana might be at par with those countries.
He explained that Dr Bawumia’s vision revolved around leveraging technology, expanding job opportunities, and building a more inclusive economy to drive national development.
Mr. Michael Appiah, Vice Coordinator of the Identifiable Groups in the Western Region appealed to Ghanaians not to allow their justifiable anger today to override what they might regret tomorrow.
He said most Ghanaians were complaining that the Ghanaian Cedis kept depreciating against the dollar.
“But let me reveal to you that when one dollar was equal to Ghc4.7, the then government cancelled teacher training and nursing allowances and could not pay over 90,000 teachers among others,” Mr Appiah pointed out.
He added: “But today even though one dollar is about GHc17, the current government has restored all the allowances, built more roads, schools and health facilities and implementing the ‘almighty’ free SHS.”
Mr. Andy Kuffour, a member of the Identifiable Groups encouraged the groups to vote massively for the party to enable them to continue with the planned programme of activities that would help Ghana develop even faster.
