Ada-Foah, Nov. 15, GNA – Ms Dornukie Naa Norteye, the Ada constituency parliamentary candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), in collaboration with the Ghana Enterprise Agency, has supplied equipment to artisans in the area.

The initiative, which was meant to strengthen artisans’ skills and create jobs, supported 205 artisans, including tilers, hairdressers, electricians, dressmakers, plumbers, carpenters, and painters.

Ms Norteye said it was her vision to have a community where young people could make a good living through their trades.

“We want to build a generation of skilled artisans who can support their families and help grow Ada’s economy,” she said, noting that the programme focused on apprentices who did not have financial support after completing their training.

She explained that the project was part of the government’s plans for the youth, adding that she was able to secure 150 slots for the first phase, indicating that she was committed to its success and would therefore embark on the other phases if voted for as the member of parliament during the elections.

She also pleaded with the community members to remember her efforts when they go to the polls, urging them to vote “number 1” for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the presidential candidate and for herself as the parliamentary candidate.

The beneficial apprentices express gratitude to the candidate for the support, describing it as a major help towards establishing themselves.

Mr Kofi Agbo, a young carpenter, said, “This equipment will help me complete projects more easily and with better quality.”

Community leaders praised the NPP parliamentary candidate for the support, saying it fits well with plans to create more jobs and reduce unemployment in Ada.

The support is expected to benefit the larger community as more skilled artisans contribute to local projects, boosting both economic independence and productivity in Ada East.
