Techiman (BE/R), Nov. 21, GNA – Mr Joseph Adoma, the Techiman Municipal Director of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has urged the political parties and their followings to behave well for a peaceful Election 2024 in the area.
He lauded the calm atmosphere that had characterised the electoral process in the Municipality so far and expressed the hope the political parties would remain decorous and tolerant.
Mr Adoma gave the advice in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Techiman on the side-lines of a peace dialogue on the Election 2024 organised by the NCCE for the various Parliamentary Candidates (PCs) in the area.
Only, Dr Christopher Baasongti Beyere, National Democratic Congress (NDC) PC attended the dialogue.
“It is glaring that the Techiman South is prepared for a peaceful and violent free election if you look at the atmosphere now”, Mr Adoma stated, and added that “everything indicates we have a peaceful and serene environment for the polls”, and urged the political parties not to do anything that would undermine prevailing peace in the area, ahead of December 7.
He expressed disappointment about the ability of the other PCs to attend the dialogue, though they were invited and reminded of the event and added however that it was only Mr Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah, the NPP PC and the incumbent MP who informed the commission about his inability to attend.
Dr Beyere highlights his vision for the constituency and pledged to expand educational and health infrastructure in the area and added he would also work hard to enhance the condition of teachers on rural areas.
