Koforidua, Nov. 30, GNA – The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) in collaboration with the New Juaben South Municipal Inter-Party Dialogue Committee (IPDC) for the 2024 general elections have organised a parliamentary candidates’ dialogue in Koforidua.
The dialogue brought together the three aspirants vying for the parliamentary seat in the New Juaben South constituency.
They were Mr. Michael Okyere Baafi, New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate and the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP), Dr Martin Otu Offei, National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate, and Mr. Evans Appiah, Independent parliamentary candidate.
In every election year, the NCCE organises the dialogue to facilitate open interaction between the constituents and their parliamentary candidates about their (aspirants) visions and missions, Mr. Clement Donkor, New Juaben South Municipal Director of NCCE, said.
He said this helped voters to make proper decision to vote for their preferred candidates on the day of elections.
The discussion prioritized employment, health, roads and infrastructure, and educational needs of the constituents.
The participants including students, artisans, youth groups, traders, and professionals lauded the NCCE and the IPDC for creating an environment which permitted a direct engagement with the candidates.
The NCCE visions to be an effective independent governance institution that delivers civic education to all Ghanaians and works towards sustaining Ghana’s democracy.
