My government will establish mechanisation centres in every district – Bawumia

Ejura (Ash), Nov. 14, GNA – The next NPP government will establish agricultural mechanisation centres in every district to ensure easy access to farm tools and equipment to ease agricultural production in the country.

Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President and flag-bearer of the NPP in the December elections, who announced this, said his government would provide the needed support to farmers not only to increase farm production and improve food security of the country, but also enhance the income of farmers.

Addressing the chiefs and people of Ejura as part of his campaign tour of the Ejura-Sekyeredumase district, he said every district would receive adequate equipment such as combine harvesters, tractors, planters, and others, to enable farmers have easy access to these facilities to use in their farms.

Dr Bawumia said his government would introduce innovative measures and strategies that would make farming very lucrative and attractive to the youth to help increase food production and incomes of farmers.

His government will also place greater emphasis on the development and use of solar energy in the country’s energy mix to help reduce the cost of electricity, which had become a huge burden on Ghanaians.

Dr Bawumia said the introduction of various initiatives such as the use of drones in the distribution of essential drugs in rural communities, inclusion of childhood cancers on the national health insurance scheme, free dialysis for kidney patients, as well as the digitalisation in the healthcare sector, were bringing relief to many people across the country.

He called on the people to vote for him and the NPP Parliamentary Candidate in the area to help the NPP government continue to initiate and implement transformational strategies to improve the lives of every Ghanaian.
