Wiamoase (Ash), Nov. 27, GNA – The MTN Ghana Foundation, a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) management structure for MTN Group’s initiatives, has commissioned an Information Communication facility (ICT) library in Wiamoase, a community in the Sekyere South District of the Ashanti Region.
The state-of-the-art Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) library is designed to equip students with Information Technology (IT) skills, and it is the first of its kind in the Ashanti Region under the MTN Foundations CSR initiative.
Mr Robert Kuzoe, the Head of MTN Ghana Foundation, said his outfit was committed to improving education and other important sectors of the economy.
He said the Foundation was currently focused on three key areas including education, health, and economic empowerment and encouraged students to make the most of this opportunity.
Mr Kuzoe gave the assurance that the Foundation, aimed at providing Ghanaian students in the districts with the same advantages as their peers in urban areas, therefore it had equipped the library with robotic equipment, laptops, and desktop computers to support STEM education.
Nana Boakye Yiadom I, the Chief of Wiamoase, applauded MTN Ghana Foundation for providing such an impactful facility for the community and students to embrace digital literacy and make use of the facility to learn digital skills.
He advised managers of the facility to put in place effective measures to maintain the facility for posterity.
