Accra, Nov. 11, GNA – Mr. Alfred Oko Vanderpuije, Member of Parliament for Ablekuma South, has commended the Ghana Muslim Mission for its impactful work in education and humanitarian assistance across the country.
He highlighted the mission’s significant investments in building schools and its ongoing efforts to support education in Ghana.
Mr. Vanderpuije was speaking at the 64th Annual National Conference of the Ghana Muslim Mission, held in Accra, with a fundraising ceremony.
The event which was on the theme “STEM and T-VET Education in Muslim Communities in Ghana for National Development,” emphasized the role of Technical, Vocational Education, and Training (TVET) in driving national development.
Mr. Vanderpuije was optimistic that the mission’s commitment to TVET would yield positive results, like their previous educational initiatives.
He also assured that the next National Democratic Congress (NDC) government would prioritize TVET education to boost the country’s human capital and meet the growing skill demands for national progress.
“I believe and I know that our flagbearer is committed to quality technical and vocational education. Your request to build STEM and TVET education will not go unnoticed in the next NDC government.
“Under the administration of the NDC, we will significantly invest in TVET education, “he said.
The conference was attended by key figures within the Ghana Muslim Mission community, including regional executives, general members, and students from selected second-cycle institutions.
Key events during the opening included speeches delivered on behalf of public officials and well-wishers, singing and dancing by the women’s fellowship, and prayers seeking Allah’s guidance for the upcoming December 7th elections.
Imams and members prayed for peace before, during, and after the elections.
Dr. Amin Bonsu, National Chairman of the Ghana Muslim Mission, called on the Muslim community to maintain peace throughout the election period.
He said that Allah had already determined the future president, and therefore, they should accept the election results, regardless of their preferences.
Dr. Bonsu also encouraged the community to actively support the STEM and TVET schools the mission planned to establish across all regions.
He assured members that the schools would be built nationwide, urging everyone to take a keen interest in the important project.
