Dambai (O/R), Nov 18, GNA-The Local Council of Churches in Dambai in the Krachi East Municipality of the Oti Region has joined forces with other stakeholders to promote peace and violence-free elections in the upcoming December polls.
Speaking during the peace walk at Dambai, Bishop Noah Adeti, Chairman of the Council, appealed to all residents and Ghanaians to be objective and constructive in their criticisms and not to be unduly blinded by their political colour.
He charged the political parties and their candidates to undertake their campaign in manners that did not seek to malign their opponents.
Bishop Adeti said politics of insults, ethnocentric, trivialities and unnecessary rivalry that exacerbated tensions, should be ended in our political discourse and other forms of engagement.
He called on the Clergy and other religions bodies in Ghana to continue to educate their members and institute fasting and prayers for their members to cry out to God for peace as the nation goes to polls on December 7.
