Kwahu Mpraeso (E/R), Nov. 15, GNA – The Kwahu South Municipality office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has launched an interfaith engagement campaign, reaching out to churches and mosques to emphasize the importance of civic responsibility in the area.
The NCCE team visited various congregations, including mosques and churches, including the Church of Pentecost, World Bible Church, Christ Apostolic Church International, and the Church of Christ.
The goal was to educate congregants on key election-related topics to promote peace and civic responsibility in the lead-up to the 2024 elections.
This initiative underscores the NCCE’s commitment to ensuring a peaceful electoral process by providing practical guidance on voting procedures and helping to minimize the number of rejected ballots.
Ms.Ticklar Asante- Asiamah, the Municipal NCCE Director, discussed with stakeholders key topics, including voter’s rights, election offences and the importance of maintaining peace during the election process.
She stated that peaceful participation was essential for national stability, urging congregants to refrain from actions that could incite conflict and to report any election-related issues to the appropriate authorities.
The team took participants through how to correctly mark their ballots to ensure that each vote counts and that voter intent was clearly indicated, addressing a common issue of ballot rejection from past elections.
The churches responded positively, expressing appreciation for the NCCE’s efforts and pledged to support a peaceful and informed election season.
The NCCE plans to continue these inter-faith engagements across Kwahu South, collaborating with religious and community groups to ensure citizens were well-prepared and actively involved in the 2024 elections.
