Krachi East: Former MCE to be laid to rest on Saturday

Pai-Katanga (O/R) Nov 8, GNA -The late Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Krachi East Municipality of the Oti Region, Mr Patrick Charty Jilima is expected to be laid to rest Saturday, November 9.

The late MCE’s mortal remains will arrive from the morgue on Friday at his residence in Pai-Katanga, a farming community under Krachi East, where sympathizers, family members and residents will gather for wake-keeping.

The late MCE left behind a legacy of dedicated service, having initiated numerous development projects in the Municipality with a special focus on education.

During his tenure as MCE, many children benefited from his sponsorship to pursue basic, Junior High and tertiary education.

The Ghana News Agency (GNA) was informed that, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), its constituency and regional executives will be there to pay their last respect to the late MCE.

Mr. Charles Gyamfi Boateng, the current Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) has expressed his sympathy to the bereaved family, describing Mr. Jilima as ” a good man who dedicated his life to serve his people”.

The Krachi East Municipality has indeed faced a devastating series of losses, with not one, but three MCE’s passing away within the period of three years.

The tragic losses of personalities were Mr. Francis Kofi Okesu, who passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2022 in Kumasi, Mr Bernard Mensah Aborkugya who collapsed, while delivering a matriculation speech at Dambai College of Education on Friday, April 5, 2024 and was pronounced dead at the hospital then followed by Mr. Patrick Charty Jilima on May 9, same year.
