Ghana Police Service Interdicts Officer Over Assault Incident

Accra, Nov.22, GNA – The Ghana Police Service has immediately interdicted Detective Corporal Baba Amando Ibrahim from Tuna Police Station in the Savannah Region following allegations of professional misconduct.

The officer was seen in a viral video physically assaulting an individual.

In a statement, the Police Service confirmed that the interdiction was necessary to facilitate a thorough investigation into the officer’s actions, in accordance with the Police Service Regulations.

Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), has personally contacted the victim’s family, offering them support and reassurance.

The IGP has also directed the Savannah Regional Police Commander to collaborate closely with the family to address the situation.
