Accra, Nov. 27, GNA - The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced that the 2024-25 football season will go on break after this week’s round of matches.
With about 10 days before the December 7, Presidential and Parliamentary Elections, the GFA has informed all stakeholders and generals about a planned week-long break.
A statement by the GFA said: “The GFA Calendar for the 2024/25 season indicates that the Ghana Premier League, the Access Bank Division One League, the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League, and all other competitions will take a short one-week break after this weekend’s MTN FA Cup Round of 64 games, Matchday 6 of the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League and all other matches, for the upcoming national General Election.
“The Ghana Premier League, Access Bank Division One League, and the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League matches are scheduled to resume on the weekend of Friday, December 13, 2024.
“The clubs and match officials are already fully aware of this one week break per the league fixtures, and this notice only serves as a reminder.
“The Association urges all participants in football and Ghanaians to perform their civic duties in a peaceful manner and wishes all Ghanaians a successful election.”
