Kojokrom (W/R), Nov. 02, GNA – The Essikado-Ketan Constituency Branch of the Young Cadres Front of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been inaugurated to unity in espousing the vision by the late Former President Jerry John Rawlings, towards a resounding victory in the Election 2024.
Comrade Sammy Donkoh, the National Executive Member of the United Cadres Front of NDC, who made the call said though victory was in sight for the NDC, there was no room for complacency but, and urged them to intensify their campaign strategies to persuade the electorate to vote for the party.
He was speaking at a conference to inaugurate the Essikado-Ketan Constituency Branch of the Young Cadres, at Kojokrom in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis of the Western Region.
The conference was on the theme: “Forging Ahead in Unity Towards Victory 2024 and Beyond”.
Comrade Donkoh said the struggle for an ideal society as captured in the party’s slogan of probity, accountability and transparency, continued unabated, because the NDC was poised to wrestle political power from the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He, thus, appealed to the rank and file of the party to bury their differences and forge ahead in unity for victory in the December polls.
Comrade Beatrice Sam, the Western Regional Chairperson of the United Cadres Front, who spoke on “The role of Cadres in election 2024 and beyond,” urged its members across the country to play a frontline role, to ensure victory for the NDC in the Election 2024.
She reminded Cadres of their sacrificial duties to put the party above any personal considerations, asking that they intensify their grassroots campaign, to win more votes for the party.
Comrade Philip Bachino, the Chairman of the Essikado-Ketan Constituency Branch of the United Cadres Front, said: “Ghanaians made a monumental mistake of voting for the NPP in 2016 and 2020, which has moved the development of the country into an abyss.”
He said the United Cadres Front would support the Flagbearer, Former President John Dramani Mahama, to clinch victory and reset the developmental agenda of the country for the benefit of the people.
Comrade Bachino also called on the Electoral Commission to be transparent and unbiased and desist from anything that could put the elections into dispute.
“As Cadres we will always protect our Parliamentary democracy by resisting any connivance between the ruling NPP and the Electoral Commission to subvert the true will of Ghanaians,” he said.
Comrade Theodolf Adansie, the Western Regional Young Cadres Coordinator, said the Young Cadres arm would move out and campaign vigorously for former President Mahama and the NDC Essikado-Ketan Constituency Parliamentary Candidate, Professor Grace Ayensu-Danquah for a massive victory.
