Tenabea, (BE/R) Nov. 13, GNA – Mrs Elizabeth Ofosu Adjare, the incumbent Member of Parliament for the Techiman North Constituency in the Bono East Region has inaugurated 10 Community-based Health Planning Service (CHPS) compound at different communities in the area.
The MP funded the construction of the health facilities.
The facilities have labour wards, equipped with beds, consulting rooms, offices and nurses residential accommodation for the Tenabea, Kokroko, Akonkonti, Krochia, 1and Two, Droboja, Asampanaye, and Bonpia communities.
Speaking at a ceremony held at Tenabea, near Buoyem for the symbolic inauguration of the facilities, Mrs. Adjare said health remained essential, hence the need to provide the facilities to bring healthcare delivery to the doorsteps of the locals.
She said he was optimistic that with the facilities in place, the health demands needs of the people would be met and asked the people to always visit the facilities whenever they fell sick.
Mrs Adjare expressed concern that many pregnant women in those areas went to stress when they were in labour, saying because of the bad nature of roads, it was always difficult to transport the pregnant women to nearby hospitals and health centers.
The MP added that she was working hard to construct more mechanised boreholes to provide potable drinking water to the deprived communities as well as improve educational infrastructure too.
Daasebre Ameyaw Kwarteng Amaniampong the Chief of Buoyam expressed appreciation to the MP for the facility, saying it would greatly help tackle the health needs of the people.
Madam Akosua Kugori a-40-year-old farmer in the area, also praised the MP for the facility, recounting how she lost three babies at birth due to the lack of health facility in the area.
